How to be outstanding
Getting on Well focuses on how the best providers are promoting the Every Child Matters outcomes relating to children’s enjoyment and achievement, and making a positive contribution.

Getting on Well aims to help all childcare providers to reflect on their practice and further improve the experiences and outcomes for children by providing:

• Examples of best practice in outstanding settings
• Questions that providers can use to examine their own practice
• A summary of the key recommendations made by inspectors to help settings improve further

Ofsted hopes that providers will use the online report and the additional resources to further develop and improve the quality of their work with children as they prepare for the introduction of the Early Years Foundation Stage in September 2008.

Getting on Well is a sequel to Safe and Sound, published in August 2006, which reported on the two outcomes relating to children being healthy and staying safe.
