Campaign History
• 2003: 4Children publishes research showing there are now over 10,000 clubs in England – a club for almost every other school in the country.
• 2002: Kids’ Club Network produces its Next Steps for achieving 20,000 clubs by 2010.
• 1998: The Government starts to channel £325 million of start-up funding for new clubs through the New Opportunities Fund.
• 1997: The Government’s National Childcare Strategy adopts our strategy to deliver such provision.
• 1995: Kids’ Club Network produces the Next Steps for School Age Childcare – a strategy demanding £250 million to develop 5,000 clubs by 2000.
• 1993: The Out of School Childcare Initiative is launched.
• 1992: Kids’ Club Network lobbies the Government to invest in out of school childcare.
